Sanford and Son – Fred Sanford Pop! Vinyl Figure
One of television’s most groundbreaking comedies is finally getting the Funko treatment. It’s the show that paved the way for future African American sitcoms, becoming a ratings hit during its six season run from 1972-77. Oh and let’s not forget it’s theme song, which once you hear it you’ll be humming it for days (seriously, I dare you to listen). Yes I’m of course talking about the hilarious Sanford and Son!
Known for its edgy racial humor, running gags and catchphrases, Sanford and Son follows Fred G. Sanford, a widower and junk dealer living at 9114 South Central Avenue in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, and his son Lamont. At times, both characters would involve themselves in schemes, usually as a means of earning cash quickly in order to pay off their various debts.
This set of Sanford and Son Pop! Vinyl Figures features both the show’s two main characters; Fred Sanford looking like he’s trying to convince his son to take part in another get-rich quick scheme, but unfortunately his son Lamont looks less than impressed with his father’s pitch. HOwever let’s be honest, we know he’s going to do it anyway. It’s a comedic formula that made them a household sensation, and now they’re bringing their hilarious schemes to your Funko collection!
